Ingredients
30 wooden/bamboo sticks (approx. 30-40 cm)
~60 small elastic bands
Preparation
Step 1
Grab 15 sticks and place them parallel to one another. Grab another stick and place it perpendicular to all other sticks.
Step 2
Using a rubber band, secure the ends of the perpendicular sticks as shown. Repeat for all 15 sticks. Remember to leave the ends longer for the middle sticks! (As shown)
Step 3
Grab another stick from the leftover 14. Twisting each stick at an angle, tie the 15
parallel sticks from step one onto this stick.
Step 4
Adjust the sticks so they form a pretty hyperbolic paraboloid.
Step 5
Tie the two ends of each of the leftover 13 sticks onto the first and last parallel sticks. Adjust shape and it's finish!! Feel free to stretch and compress the hyperbolic paraboloid, and show your friend that it looks concave one side and convex another!
